However, through its partnership with the 911 Cell Phone Bank, the Cherokee Nation Entertainment ensures these phones are repurposed to help those in need.
For over 20 years, the 911 Cell Phone Bank has provided free phones and service to victims and survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence through partnerships with Law Enforcement Victims Services and other programs like the Family Safety Center in Tulsa.
“We have limited resources in Oklahoma, so the 911 Cell Phone Bank has been a true lifeline for us,” said Karen Smith, Human Trafficking Project Director at the Family Safety Center in Tulsa. “The ability to provide victims with a means of communication has been transformative.”
Cherokee Nation’ Entertainment’s partnership with the 911CPB extends beyond entertainment. It demonstrates their commitment to being a community hub dedicated to making a positive, lasting impact on vulnerable individuals.

Cherokee Nation’s protocol for unclaimed property includes a waiting period to ensure that lost items might be returned to their rightful owners first before being donated. If unclaimed, electronic devices are securely wiped of sensitive data and responsibly recycled through the 911 Cell Phone Bank, preventing potential security risks and environmental harm. This process aligns with the Cherokee Nation’s focus on data security and sustainability.
Through this partnership, Cherokee Nation proves it is more than just entertainment venues— it serves as a beacon of hope and social responsibility.
